Cats (《貓》), Evita (《貝隆夫人》), The Phantom of the Opera (《歌聲魅影》)... these are all renowned musicals that have drawn thousands of fans from all over the world. Cats depicts the life of some cats that live in a city unnoticed, while Evita is best known for Don't Cry for Me Argentina, its theme song. They are different in theme, but these musicals have one thing in common. They are all connected to one name, Andrew Lloyd Webber.
In 1986, Webber's The Phantom of the Opera was premiered. Its striking and memorable music, together with its classic and gorgeous set, enlivens a story of love, hatred and mystery. The Phantom's appeal is evidenced by rounds of applause in theatres all over the world. It is one of the three longest-running musicals in history (all by Webber).
In 2010, Webber brought the Phantom back to the stage, showing to the world that there was a love that would never die. Not only does Love Never Dies keep the story of the Phantom alive, but it also epitomises Webber's spirit and achievements. It quenches the thirst of Webber's long-awaiting fans as well.
