【明報專訊】The "River of Wisdom-Animated Version of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival" (電子動態版《清明上河圖》) exhibition in Hong Kong opened on November 9. Some schools and social and welfare bodies are eligible to apply for free group visits. Led by their teachers, students have explored the multimedia version of the national treasure.
Yu Zheng (于正) of Crystal Digital Technology Co, Ltd, who is chief designer of the project, said in an interview that, because he knew some Hong Kong students would view the exhibit, he considered himself shouldering the responsibility to introduce traditional Chinese culture to them.
The scene is portrayed in day-to-night cycles lasting four minutes with interplay of light and colour as it was in the China Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. The show has met with overwhelming reception. The 600,000 tickets were sold out in six days, and 168,000 additional tickets were snapped up on the first day of sale. Furthermore, souvenirs have been hot items.
